Petworld is a family owned and run company established by the Horkan Family in Castlebar, County Mayo, Ireland. The Horkan family has been in business for over 100 years and is recognised as a leader in the garden centre market for the last 40 years and in the pet market for over 20 years. The first Petworld Store was opened in 1998 in Castlebar at Horkan’s Garden Centre. Petworld stores are now located in Dublin, Galway, Sligo, Athlone and Mayo. The Group employs over 100 staff in both Petworld and Horkan’s Lifestyle & Garden Centre stores all across Ireland.

Petworld stocks a wide selection of traditional and exotic pet species including snakes and reptiles, tropical fish, birds, pet rabbits and other small animals. These pets are not available on line but are available through our Stores.  We also stock a wide selection of the very best pet food and an extensive range of accessories and safety products for your pets which are available in store or online.
2010 sees the launch of our online shopping site www.petworlddirect.ie. Its purpose is to offer our existing customers another way of shopping by bringing Petworld directly into their home. Equally important is the opportunity it gives us to reach, and offer our service to, pet owners in every part of Ireland.
